Sunny Hostin’s Son Gabe Enjoys a Normal Life

Sunny Hostin’s top priority has remained the same over the years: her family. In a chat with Closer, the talk show host made it clear that her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, and their two children, Paloma and Gabriel “Gabe” Hostin, mean the world to her. The “View” co-host mentioned she had no qualms about letting go of career opportunities, ensuring she was always there to support her kids during their significant life events. These sacrifices have paid off, as she enjoys a strong bond with her children.

During a 2023 appearance on the “Rachel Ray Show,” Sunny was surprised with a heartfelt Mother’s Day message from her kids. Gabe’s words, “Happy Mother’s Day to the greatest mom of all time… I love you to the moon and back,” brought tears to her eyes.

In March 2020, Sunny had a similarly emotional moment when Gabe received his Harvard acceptance letter. Despite her celebrity status, Sunny had to dispel rumors that her money got Gabe into the prestigious institution. She clarified on “The View” that their family didn’t have enough spare funds for a hefty donation, and Gabe’s acceptance was solely due to his hard work.

Before Gabe earned his spot at Harvard to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, he showcased his talents on his high school’s football team. Gabe’s interests have evolved as he aged, and he’s found new passions. In 2019, he shared a video on Instagram playing the saxophone in his high school band. His love for music seemed to transition naturally into a passion for dance, leading him to join a troupe named Omo Naija x Wahala Boys, honoring his African roots.

At university, Gabe explored directing through a group project, earning his team an award for Best Ensemble Cast. Besides his extracurriculars, Gabe also leads as CEO of the non-profit Ivy League Mentoring, which he co-founded. This organization connects underprivileged students to experienced mentors, helping them achieve academic excellence.

Gabe’s non-profit has made a noticeable impact, with students sharing their positive experiences on “Good Morning America” in 2023. Additionally, Gabe hosts a podcast named “UnTextbooked: Our History Revisited” and has been shadowing Congressman Ted Lieu since 2019 to gain political insights. Despite his busy schedule, he still makes time for enjoyment.

When Gabe isn’t working on his career, he loves to travel. In 2021, he went bungee jumping in South Africa. In 2023, he enjoyed a trip to Ghana with friends. Gabe seems to prefer the beach for vacations, having visited the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Hawaii, and more. At home, Gabe likes to go out with friends, ensuring he maintains his mental and physical health.

His fitness regime even caught the attention of Sherri Shepherd. When Sunny appeared on her talk show “Sherri” in 2024, she shared photos of a then-21-year-old Gabe, prompting Shepherd to joke about wanting to date him. Sunny admitted later on “The View” that the idea made her uncomfortable. Gabe himself revealed on Entertainment Tonight’s “Spilling The E-Tea” that the photos led to one of his most embarrassing moments, although he was both flattered and flabbergasted by Shepherd’s comments.

This awkward interaction, however, pales compared to other heated moments, like when Whoopi Goldberg clashed with Sunny over a conspiracy theory or Sunny’s controversial opinion on Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
