With 2024 marking the 400th anniversary of Tainan, Mayor Huang Wei-che and the city government have launched the “Tainan 400″ campaign to promote this historic city on the global stage. From August 12th to 18th, the promo video will be broadcast at Times Square in New York City, the Printemps department store in Paris, and the downtown Gangnam area in Seoul. By the end of September, the video will also be showcased in the bustling district of Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The 15-second promo video features highlights of Tainan, such as the Confucius Temple, the burning of the King Boat, and the Centipede Procession. These visual snippets aim to showcase the rich traditional culture of Tainan to an international audience.

In addition to the historical and cultural marvels, the video also takes viewers on a journey through significant events and attractions like the Taiwan Lantern Festival, the Qigu Salt Mountains, and the Golden Coastline. Notable sites like the Hayashi Department Store are also featured, blending both natural and historical beauties of Tainan.
