Tales of the Walking Dead’s Danny Ramirez Joins New Film, Pursuit of Touch

Actor Danny Ramirez is well known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Walking Dead fans know him as Eric from the season finale episode “La Doña” in the Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff. Deadline reports that Ramirez has secured his next role in the movie Pursuit of Touch.

Ramirez co-wrote Pursuit of Touch with Slave Play creator and Tony Award nominee, Jeremy O. Harris. He will also serve as a producer with Niv Gafny and Tom Culliver, under their Pinstripes banner, along with Harris and partner Josh Godfrey under their bb2 company. Currently, a director has yet to be announced for the movie.

The movie will feature Ramirez as a reclusive Afghanistan War veteran who sets out to save his favorite cam girl when she becomes entangled in a dangerous conspiracy. The story begins as a man-on-a-mission tale but evolves into a deeper exploration of human connection in a digital world.

Ramirez recently wrapped filming for Captain America: Brave New World, continuing on from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, where he will reprise his role as Joaquin Torres. In this new movie, Torres will take up the mantle of Falcon, a role formerly held by his friend Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). The movie is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.

He is also set to join season 2 of HBO’s popular The Last of Us series as a character named Manny. The second season, expected to release in 2025, will be based on the 2020 game The Last of Us Part II.

Ramirez has also appeared in Black Mirror, On My Block, The Gifted, and more. In 2022, he starred alongside Lili Reinhart in the Netflix original rom-com Look Both Ways. The movie features a unique storyline with parallel versions of Natalie’s (Reinhart) life, depicting her choices at a crossroads and showing both possible outcomes.

Additionally, you can catch him with Natalia Dyer and Rachel Keller in the drama Chestnut available on Prime Video. The plot follows a girl who gets caught up in a relationship with both a man and a woman the summer after her college graduation. Ramirez also stars in the thriller Root Letter with Keana Marie and Lydia Hearst, which is available to stream on Tubi.
