Tallahassee Favorite Faces Highs and Lows in ‘Bachelorette’ Week 3

Following their first week in Australia, Week 3 of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” continues with Miami’s Jenn Tran and the remaining 15 contestants—fondly referred to as Jenn-tlemen, including a former Tallahassee resident—competing for her affection in the vibrant city of Melbourne.

The night started with Spencer making a memorable impression, earning the first rose after a one-on-one helicopter date that took them soaring across the city’s skylines. Back at the Marriott hotel, tensions remained high, especially as the contestants were irritated by Devin monopolizing Jenn’s time.

John Mitchell of Tallahassee shared his thoughts, “I was just really happy to see Jenn last night, after some issues last week.”

John, a former Chiles High School football star, was among the lucky few selected to go on the first group date with Jenn this week. Many, including Thomas and Sam M., were not thrilled about Devin being part of the group date, as his presence seemed to rub everyone the wrong way.

“I would love to get a group date rose, so I’m going to put my best foot forward,” Devin said, determined to make an impression.

Upon arriving at their date, the men were stunned to be greeted by Jenn and four male strippers, who announced that they needed to prepare for a performance later that evening for the “Love Down Under” showcase. Only one would come out as the night’s winner.

Sam M. couldn’t conceal his discomfort. “I’m mortified when I find out what we’re doing,” he admitted.

The evening show was judged by Jenn, along with Australia’s beloved sister bachelorettes, Becky and Ellie. Each man had the chance to take the stage and show the ladies what they were working with. Some took the performance very seriously, showcasing their best moves.

Local favorite John Mitchell, affectionately nicknamed Dr. Chocolate, embraced the challenge with confidence.

“Jenn is looking for us to put our guard down,” John said. “This is a great way to show we’re not scared, and we’re not scared of love.”

While many expected Devin to steal the show, it was Sam N. who took the spotlight by using the opportunity to express his feelings rather than join in the strip-tease.

“Jenn, I’m already falling in love with you,” he said, leaving the audience in stunned silence.

“You could hear a pin drop,” John recounted.

After the date, John made a sweet gesture by presenting Jenn with an assortment of chocolates, hoping to win her heart and secure the night’s rose.

Meanwhile, Sam N. took the opportunity to talk to the other contestants about his earlier confession to Jenn. He approached his fellow suitors to clarify his intentions. Surprisingly, Devin supported him, telling him he didn’t need to apologize or justify his feelings.

This interaction revealed the complexity of relationships in the house, balancing budding friendships with their shared goal of winning Jenn’s heart.

In a moment of vulnerability, Devin opened up about insecurities regarding his body image. Jenn was moved by his honesty and impressed by his willingness to step outside his comfort zone. Ultimately, he was rewarded with the rose, solidifying his spot for the upcoming week.

The final date of the episode tested the daring nature of the four remaining contestants who faced off on a racetrack. Stakes were high, as the man with the fastest lap time would earn extra one-on-one time with Jenn.

As they headed into the final rose ceremony, 12 men were on edge, eager to see if their efforts would secure them a spot in the competition for the coming weeks.

“It was a pretty enjoyable week,” John commented to the group. “So let’s just cap it off with good vibes, man.”

Aaron made the personal decision to leave the competition to pursue his dreams. However, before his departure, he dropped a bombshell on Jenn, warning her that while there are some good guys, others were there for the wrong reasons.

Jenn, donned in a shimmering silver dress and a white fur shawl, took his warning seriously. She commanded the room with her presence and addressed the men, urging them to reflect on their true intentions and make an honest choice about staying or leaving.

Before distributing the week’s roses, Jenn took the time to gauge her suitors’ minds, trying to discern who Aaron might have been talking about. The remaining contestants were shocked and confused, pointing blame at each other, leading to high tensions in the room.

“Walking into the rose ceremony feels heavy,” John said. “Who knows what can happen?”

Fortunately, John received the second rose of the evening, along with eight other men, ensuring their place in the competition along with the three who had already received roses.

Though safe for now, the remaining contestants will be on edge in the coming weeks due to the night’s revelations.

Viewers can watch “The Bachelorette” at 8 p.m. on Mondays on ABC.
