Tallahassee Viewers Question John Mitchell’s Absence on ‘The Bachelorette’

As the second week of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” culminated in the final rose ceremony, viewers in Tallahassee eagerly awaited to see if local contestant John Mitchell would get some one-on-one time with Jenn Tran.

This week, Jenn and her group of 18 eligible bachelors traveled to Australia and stayed at a Marriott hotel. Jenn divided the men into two groups for dates, with one-on-one dinners planned after each group activity.

Though the Tallahassee favorite wasn’t invited on the first date, which involved sampling different foods around Melbourne, tensions quickly arose among the contestants. Jenn and eight of the men tried various dishes, including vegemite, an Australian specialty made from brewer’s yeast extract and vegetables.

Not long into the date, Devin, a 28-year-old freight company owner from Houston, whisked Jenn away to a nearby ice cream shop. Jenn emphasized the importance of such spontaneous moments. This move, however, left the other men feeling disrespected. When the group reunited, Jenn introduced a new challenge at a comedy club, where each man had to perform a stand-up act. The guys used this opportunity to roast Devin, with Aaron pointedly saying, “You shouldn’t be running off on your own getting ice cream.”

Meanwhile, back at the hotel, the rest of the men waited for their group date with Jenn and a card announcing the selection for a one-on-one skydiving date. John read out the card, but it was Marcus who got the chance to skydive.

On the next group date, Jenn took John and the other contestants to the outback to interact with various animals. Despite his efforts, the former Chiles High School football star didn’t secure much alone time with Jenn, prompting fans to wonder if he’d manage to win her over before the rose ceremony.

John tried to distance himself from the brewing conflict involving Devin. “It’s none of my business,” he said. He also reminded everyone to respect the time of those who hadn’t spent much time with Jenn, especially during the evening social before the final rose ceremony. Nonetheless, Devin was the first to pull Jenn aside again, despite the earlier drama.

During the confessionals, the men expressed their frustration, noting that Devin had promised to respect everyone’s time. Thomas, fed up with the situation, confronted Devin while he was speaking to Jenn. Jenn overheard the confrontation and defended her decisions, stating she has the right to talk to anyone whenever she wants.

Despite all the drama, John and Jenn didn’t spend much time together. However, John survived the second rose ceremony, leaving fans eagerly anticipating if he will finally get his alone time with Jenn in the next episode of “The Bachelorette.”

Viewers can catch “The Bachelorette” at 8 p.m. on Mondays on ABC.
