Tammy Slaton of ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Reportedly Takes Care of Amy’s Kids

Amy Slaton has been released from the custody of the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department following her recent arrest on charges related to drug possession and child endangerment.

The 36-year-old reality star, known for her appearance on 1000-Lb. Sisters, was taken into custody earlier this week. After her arrest, reports indicate that her sister, Tammy Slaton, stepped in to care for Amy’s two children, Gage and Glenn, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Halterman.

On September 4, a law enforcement source revealed that Tammy, aged 38, picked up the children after Amy was arrested. However, details about whether Tammy collected the children from the zoo where the arrest occurred or directly from the sheriff’s department were not clarified by the insider.

Amy’s arrest took place on September 2 at the Tennessee Safari Park located in Alamo, where she faced charges including illegal possession of schedule I and schedule VI substances, as well as two counts of child endangerment. The sheriff’s office addressed the incident through a post on Facebook.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies were called to the safari park following an incident where a guest was reportedly bitten by a camel. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies noticed suspicious odors coming from a vehicle associated with the guest. The post confirmed Amy Slaton Halterman’s involvement and subsequent arrest on the stated charges.

The sheriff’s announcement also mentioned that Amy was arrested alongside Brian Scott Lovvorn, who was found in the same vehicle and is facing equivalent charges. Both individuals were booked into the Crockett County Jail, where the sheriff’s office stated that the allegations are merely accusations until proven guilty in a court of law.

Prior to her arrest, Amy reportedly received medical attention for injuries sustained from a camel bite at the zoo. A photo shared by TMZ displayed Amy on a stretcher, her arm wrapped in a makeshift bandage, highlighting the seriousness of the situation she found herself in.

Since the incident, Amy has not made any public statements regarding her arrest or the events leading to it.
