Taylor Swift Debuts Song About Ex Joe Alwyn on Eras Tour

Taylor Swift couldn’t finish her tour stop in London without playing her song “London Boy” as a surprise song.

During her second Eras Tour show in London, England this week, Swift started off her acoustic set with a surprise performance of “London Boy,” a track from her Lover album that is known to be about her English ex Joe Alwyn .

Up until this point of the tour, Swift has noticeably steered clear of the upbeat track, which is practically a love letter to both Alwyn and the city of London itself.

But while performing her last string of Eras Tour shows in the English capital, Swift practically had to sing it at least once—and she did just that during the Friday, Aug. 16 show.

“I’ve never played this on the Eras Tour before,” she said before breaking out into the song, much to the Wembley Stadium crowd’s delight.

“she’s singing london boy ????? yeah she’s officially healed :’) i’m crying,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the show on Friday.

Interestingly, though, Swift didn’t mashup the song with any other tracks, even though she has consistently been mixing at least two songs during each surprise performance.

After playing “London Boy” on the guitar—and looking extremely joyful while she did it—Swift, 34, then moved over to the piano for the second surprise song, a combination of two super deep cuts.

Mixing together “Dear John” from Speak Now and “Sad Beautiful Tragic” off of Red , the energy took a much more solemn turn—which some fans believe may have been on purpose.

“singing ‘you know i love a london boy’ and then ‘i’m shining like fireworks over your sad empty town’ at wembley is crazy,” one fan pointed out .

“THIS IS SO UNHINGED IM SO HERE FOR IT” another Swiftie gushed online .
