Taylor Swift Faces Numerous Plastic Surgery Rumors Over the Years

Critics have long speculated about whether Taylor Swift has undergone facial procedures, prompting cosmetic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, MD, to address the rumors on TikTok. Dr. Youn acknowledged that if the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer has had any work done, it would only be minor adjustments, making it challenging to pinpoint specific changes. Over the years, Swift has faced allegations of altering her chin, nose, and lips. For instance, a Reddit thread claims that Swift’s fans are in denial about any possible modifications. However, Dr. Youn asserts that Swift’s appearance remained largely consistent until she was about 23 years old.

At that point, Dr. Youn observed, “Her face does look like it’s getting a bit leaner, and some people have accused her of undergoing a buccal fat pad removal to help narrow and thin her cheeks.” Yet, although it’s possible that Swift underwent this popular celebrity procedure, Dr. Youn also suggested, “It’s also possible that she just has gotten a little bit leaner and she’s getting a little bit older, and as we get older, our face does typically lean out a bit.”

In his professional opinion, Swift’s changing appearance is not a result of plastic surgery. He extended this argument to her lips, which some believe have changed over time. Dr. Youn contended that any perceived alterations in Swift’s lips are likely due to makeup techniques such as overlining, echoing the sentiment expressed by some users on Reddit.

Remarkably, this topic may not have gained as much attention if not for an incident involving makeup artist Gucci Westman. In an interview with ELLE Australia in 2023, Westman revealed that he had received Taylor Swift’s mother’s permission to apply a bold red lip color for a 2009 Allure magazine cover. The transformation in Swift’s appearance due to the strong red lip may have fueled some of the speculations about her changing facial features.
