Taylor Swift fans in London feel safe due to omnipresent security

LONDON — Amy Willow from Brighton, United Kingdom, traveled overnight with her two best friends to secure a spot for Thursday night’s Eras Tour show.

Arriving at Wembley Stadium at 4 a.m. turned out to be a wise decision. She was the first in line.

“I thought there would be a queue of a hundred people,” she exclaimed, just four hours before general admission doors opened. “But there was no one here. It was amazing.”

This year, Wembley Stadium enforced stricter rules for the five Eras Tour concerts, disallowing fans with floor tickets from camping.

“I considered selling my tickets,” Willow admitted, referencing a foiled terrorist plot that led to the cancellation of three shows in Vienna last week. “I was unsure if I wanted to attend, considering the potential issues and tension. But there’s security everywhere. Even at 3 a.m. yesterday, security was present and helpful.”

For safety reasons, Wembley Stadium advised anyone without a ticket to avoid coming to the shows. A high security presence was evident, with workers in neon yellow vests welcoming concertgoers.

The Metropolitan Police stated, “The Met works closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure appropriate security and policing plans are in place.”

TikTok influencer Ty Wilson, who experienced the Vienna cancellations and saw thousands of Swifties singing in the streets, shared his thoughts.

“Initially, the cancellation of three shows felt like a joke because it was unbelievable,” he said. “But the response from the Vienna community was beautiful. Now in London, it feels like that same positive energy is in the air.”
