Taylor Swift Felt ‘Fear and Guilt’ Over Vienna Terror Plot

Taylor Swift has broken her silence regarding the traumatic events surrounding the bomb plot at her Vienna concerts. She revealed that her quietness on the issue was part of a coordinated strategy with police to ensure the safety of her fans during her subsequent performances in London.

The day after concluding the European leg of her “Eras” tour, Taylor spoke out about her sentiments. She expressed deep sadness over the necessity to cancel the three shows in Vienna and admitted, “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”

Despite the devastation, she found some comfort in observing the resilience of her fans in Vienna after learning about the foiled bomb plot. Three suspects had allegedly planned to detonate bombs in the stadium and orchestrate mass stabbings and chaos outside it. In light of this, Taylor and her team focused intensely on the security measures for her next tour stop at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Knowing that nearly half a million fans would attend the London shows, Taylor stated, “My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal.” Despite the heightened security measures, which made it take longer for fans to enter the stadium, all five nights of the concert concluded without any incidents. Taylor thanked the authorities for their role in ensuring everyone’s safety.

Reflecting on why it took her two weeks to address the situation publicly, Taylor explained, “Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

Taylor expressed “great relief” that they were able to conclude the European shows safely.
