Taylor Swift Hilariously Breaks Character During ‘Eras’ Tour Moment

During Taylor Swift’s recent “Eras” tour show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the singer had an unexpected moment on stage. The instance occurred during her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Typically, this song is performed with dancers, and at this particular show, dancer Kam Saunders accidentally caused Swift to break character and laugh.

A video of the incident posted on X (formerly Twitter) shows the moment. Initially, Swift and Saunders perform their routine smoothly. The dance resembles a silent movie scene where Swift reluctantly puts on a suit jacket held by Saunders. However, about 17 seconds into the video, Swift cracks a smile and begins to laugh, breaking her character. She lowers her head to hide her laughter, but it’s still noticeable in the video.

The reason for Swift’s laughter remains unclear. She handled the situation like a professional, though it would be intriguing to know what prompted her to laugh. Possibly, it was Saunders energizing the crowd to get louder, which they quickly did.

“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” is a track from Swift’s latest album, *The Tortured Poets Department*. It was released as the second single off the album on July 2, 2024. The song, co-written by Swift and producer Jack Antonoff, has become one of the highlights of the “Eras” tour since its live debut.

Swift started incorporating songs from *The Tortured Poets Department* into her setlist soon after the album’s release. Notably, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, performed the song with her during a show in London on June 23, 2024.

Currently, Swift is at the beginning of a seven-show series in Germany. The first three shows are in Gelsenkirchen, followed by two shows each in Hamburg and Munich. After these performances, she has 11 shows remaining on the European leg of the tour. Swift will perform in Poland and Austria before finishing with five shows at Wembley Stadium in London from August 15-20.

Following a brief break of a couple of months, Swift will conclude the “Eras” tour with 18 additional shows in North America. She has nine shows planned across the United States before heading to Canada for the final nine shows, wrapping up the tour on December 8, 2024.

The “Eras” tour is Swift’s most ambitious tour yet. With a three-hour runtime, the show features 45 songs from her extensive discography, encompassing almost all of her albums. The tour kicked off on March 17, 2023, with a performance in Glendale, Arizona. Throughout 2023, Swift primarily performed shows in North America before concluding the year with performances in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil.

The tour resumed on February 7, 2024, with four shows in Tokyo, Japan, followed by 13 shows in Australia and Singapore. After a two-month hiatus, the European leg of the “Eras” tour began on May 9 with four shows in Nanterre, France. Since then, Swift has performed in multiple countries, including Sweden, France, England, Italy, and Ireland.

By the end of the “Eras” tour, it is expected to be the biggest tour ever, filled with unforgettable moments such as Swift breaking character on stage.
