Taylor Swift Pays Tribute to ‘Hero’ Stevie Nicks During Dublin ‘Eras’ Tour

Taylor Swift took the stage during her third night in Dublin on the “Eras” tour, debuting a song from her Tortured Poets Department and dedicating it to the legendary Stevie Nicks.

On June 30, 2024, Taylor Swift performed “Clara Bow” as part of her surprise songs set. This live debut of the track, which concludes The Tortured Poets Department, was a special moment in the show.

Introducing the song, Swift paid a heartfelt tribute to Stevie Nicks, describing her as a “hero.”

“The reason I want to play this tonight is because a friend of mine is here,” Swift began. “A friend of mine is here who is watching the show, who has really been one of the reasons why, or any female artists get to do what we get to do now. And she has mentored so many artists that you don’t even know she’s doing it,” she said.

Swift continued, “She has just become friends with so many female artists just to be a guiding hand, I can’t tell you how rare that is. She is a hero of mine and also someone that I can tell her any secret and she’d never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years. I’m talking about Stevie Nicks.” The crowd responded with loud cheers.

Later in the show, Swift made a playful mention of “the guy on the Chiefs,” Travis Kelce, during “Karma,” the final song of the evening. This nod was a subtle acknowledgment of her relationship with Kelce, who was present at the concert.

Stevie Nicks started her music career as part of a duo with Lindsey Buckingham, later joining Fleetwood Mac in 1975. Alongside Mick Fleetwood and Christine and John McVie, they achieved great success.

Fleetwood Mac’s biggest album, Rumours, was released in 1977, featuring iconic tracks such as “The Chain,” “Dreams,” and “Don’t Stop.” The band’s following albums include Tusk, Mirage, Tango in the Night, Behind the Mask, Time, and Say You Will.

As a solo artist, Nicks has released eight studio albums and continues to tour. She is set to perform her own concert in Dublin, Ireland, followed by five more dates in Europe.

Currently, Taylor Swift is in the midst of her 2024 European “Eras” tour. With about 25 dates remaining, this leg of the tour will culminate in a five-night stay at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Earlier, Swift had performed three nights at Wembley as part of this tour.

The European leg kicked off on May 9, 2024, in Nanterre, France. In October 2024, Swift will embark on a second North American leg, featuring 18 dates across the United States and Canada. The “Eras” tour will conclude on December 8, 2024, with a final show in Vancouver, marking the end of her 152-date tour.

Swift’s “Eras” tour is her most ambitious venture yet, offering fans a three-hour journey through her extensive discography and featuring tracks from nearly all of her albums.
