Taylor Swift Praises Deadpool and Wolverine with Enthusiastic Endorsement

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie “Deadpool and Wolverine” recently received high praise from Taylor Swift.

Swift took to her Instagram Story to share her thoughts about the film, calling it “unspeakably awesome.” Her review was later screen-shotted by Discussing Film on X (formerly Twitter).

Swift expressed deep admiration for Hugh Jackman’s work on the film. “Over the past few years, I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film,” she began. “He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it.”

She concluded her post with a lighthearted note about how polite they were when others joined their photo and added a link for buying movie tickets, even giving a nod to Ryan Reynolds’ character, Wade Wilson.

While Taylor Swift does not appear in the film, her glowing review is a strong endorsement. “Deadpool and Wolverine” is the thirty-fourth entry in the MCU and brings together Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan Howlett/Wolverine for the first time on screen.

The film’s narrative picks up a few years after the events of “Deadpool 2.” Wade Wilson finds himself selling used cars and living with Blind Al, played by Leslie Uggams, a significant departure from his superhero activities. The Time Variance Authority (TVA) recruits him for a new mission. Needing help, Wade turns to Wolverine, and the two team up to face Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin.

Directed by Shawn Levy, who also co-wrote the script with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, the film reunites Levy with both Jackman and Reynolds. Levy previously collaborated with them on films like “Real Steel,” “Free Guy,” and “The Adam Project.”

Taylor Swift’s influence and star power give her endorsement considerable weight. Known as one of the biggest stars globally, Swift is currently on her record-breaking Eras Tour, which is set to become the highest-grossing tour ever. The tour includes 152 shows, with 13 remaining in Europe and 18 more in North America after that.

During the Eras Tour, fans have experienced several surprises, including a notable moment when her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, joined her on stage to perform “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Swift recently bagged two Grammy awards out of her six nominations in this year’s ceremony, winning Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights.” In her acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album, Swift announced her eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” This announcement came on the heels of her 2023 releases: two re-recorded albums, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

Her newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released on April 19, 2024. Hours after the original album’s release, Swift dropped an anthology edition featuring 15 additional tracks, including songs like “So High School” and “The Black Dog.”

Swift showing such enthusiasm for “Deadpool and Wolverine” is bound to excite both her fans and MCU enthusiasts. Her praise highlights not only the enduring appeal of the superhero genre but also the significant cultural impact of the MCU.
