Taylor Swift Reached Out to UK Stabbing Victims’ Families Before London Show

Taylor Swift reached out to the families of the victims killed in a tragic mass stabbing in Southport, England last month, according to a report. The 14-time Grammy winner resumed her sold-out Eras tour in London on Thursday night, marking the beginning of a five-night run for her European leg.

This concert was described as Swift’s “hardest concert of her career” after three young girls—Alice da Silva Aguiar, 9, Elsie Stancombe, 7, and Bebe King, 6—were killed during a dance class inspired by her music. The culprit entered the dance class on July 29, leaving ten others seriously injured.

While Swift did not mention the heart-wrenching incident during her performance at Wembley Stadium, sources say she had already reached out to the victims’ families before taking the stage. A source told the Sun, “Taylor may not have spoken about Elsie Dot, Alice, and Bebe on stage but she has reached out to their families. It is something that has weighed heavily on her mind.”

Just a day after the horrific event, Swift released a statement expressing her shock and sorrow over the news. “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock,” she said on July 30. Swift described the loss as “the loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders.”

Swift continued in her message to her 283 million Instagram followers, “These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

In the aftermath of the attack, Swift’s fans have raised thousands of dollars for the families of the victims, showing solidarity and support during this difficult time. However, the tragic event was not the only threat Swift faced during her European tour. She was forced to cancel three of her Vienna shows due to a foiled terrorist plot.

On August 7, local authorities in Vienna announced the arrest of three teenagers who pledged allegiance to ISIS and reportedly planned to carry out an attack outside the Ernst Happel Stadium, intending to kill as many people as possible. The suspects, aged between 15 and 19, had allegedly planned to use homemade explosives and knives in their attack.
