When Taylor Swift returns to the stage, London authorities and Wembley Stadium will implement extraordinary security measures, including specialized tactics aimed at preventing potential terrorist threats, TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources inform TMZ that Taylor’s three upcoming shows at Wembley will utilize additional private security personnel who specialize in counterterrorism. This increased security presence is partly in response to a foiled terror plot in Vienna by U.S. and Austrian officials.

The private security force will also be deployed to address the strains on local police due to ongoing riots in London. Sources indicate that Wembley Stadium often employs high-level security measures, making it one of the safest venues in Europe from a counterterrorism standpoint. However, concerns remain.

A major concern for Taylor’s upcoming shows at Wembley is protecting the large number of fans, often referred to as “Swifties,” who gather outside her concert venues. This phenomenon has been observed in other European stops, such as in Munich, where crowds gather even if they don’t have show tickets.

Ben Knott, operations director at FGH Security in England, told TMZ that private security firms collaborate with police at events where fans congregate to identify suspicious individuals.

These counterterrorism security forces typically deploy both plainclothes and uniformed personnel who closely monitor the crowd for unusual behavior. For instance, if someone is observed scanning the area for cameras and police, it may indicate suspicious activity, prompting security to approach the individual.

Typically, these interactions start with friendly conversation to defuse potential threats, but the slightest detection of nefarious intent will trigger immediate police involvement.

The focus on counterterrorism and heightened security comes in the aftermath of Taylor’s canceled concerts in Vienna. Three suspects were arrested for allegedly planning to detonate explosives within the concert venue and cause mass casualties among fans outside.

The London Metropolitan Police have stated, “There is nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London.”

However, the addition of counterterrorism security forces indicates that Wembley Stadium, local law enforcement, and concert organizers are taking a cautious approach to ensure safety during Taylor Swift’s London shows.
