Teaser for “Thunderbolts” Reveals Yelena Belova’s New Look

Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, is set to sport a brand-new look in the upcoming movie *Thunderbolts* slated for release next summer. This exciting reveal was made during Disney’s D23 Expo, where footage of the film showcased Belova’s strikingly different hairstyle from those seen in *Black Widow* and *Hawkeye*.

The new hairstyle closely resembles the one worn by Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, in *Avengers: Infinity War*. This change has intrigued fans and sparked conversations online, drawing more anticipation for Belova’s character development.

Florence Pugh has quickly become a fan favorite, not just among audiences but also among her castmates. Earlier this year, Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, praised Pugh, calling her the best thing about *Thunderbolts*.

In an interview with *GamesRadar* at San Diego Comic-Con, Pugh expressed her gratitude for Stan’s kind words. “I was very, very chuffed that he said that about me,” she shared. Pugh added that receiving such praise from respected colleagues bolsters her confidence and enhances her appreciation for her work. “And he’s been in the MCU for such a long time, so to hear that from him is very special.”

Pugh will share the screen with her *Black Widow* costar David Harbour, who described the film as feeling like a family reunion. Harbour, who plays Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, hinted at a deeper exploration of their dynamic relationship in the upcoming film. “She’s just electric to work with. There’s complexity in their relationship this time around,” Harbour mentioned, noting that despite their character flaws, working with Pugh was a highlight for him.

*Thunderbolts* is directed by Jake Schreier, known for *Paper Towns* and *Beef*. The script comes from a talented team including Eric Pearson (known for *Thor: Ragnarok* and *Black Widow*), Lee Sung Jin (*Beef*), and Joanna Calo (*Bojack Horseman*).

The cast features a star-studded lineup with Sebastian Stan returning as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob, and Geraldine Viswanathan as a new character named Mel.

*Thunderbolts* is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2025. It is part of a packed Marvel Studios release schedule that includes *Deadpool & Wolverine* on July 26, *Captain America: Brave New World* on February 14, 2025, *The Fantastic Four* on July 25, 2025, *Blade* on November 7, 2025, *Avengers: Doomsday* on May 1, 2026, and *Avengers: Secret Wars* on May 7, 2027.

This extensive lineup promises a plethora of excitement for Marvel fans over the next few years, with *Thunderbolts* standing out as a highly anticipated film that will explore the complexities and dynamics of some of Marvel’s most intriguing characters.
