Tems has unveiled the official video for “Burning,” the third track from her most recent project, Born In The Wild. The subdued, neo-soul soundscape of the nearly three-minute track showcases the beguiling Nigerian heartthrob singing about the often overlooked challenges of transitioning from a local sensation to a global star.

“It was all a dream. Just a new girl on the scene. Got your face on magazines. How it feel? It’s killing me. But do you care to see? Plenty fire in my eyes. Just the way I like to be. Will I stay, will I leave?” she sings over the track, crafted in tandem with Guilty Beatz.

“I could figure out myself. When I’m distant in my world. I could hold on to the past. And be absolutely mad. But I let go of my sins. Just searchin’ for my wings. If you know where I’ll find it. I would take a limousine.”

The self-directed visuals mirror the vulnerable lyrics of the Born In The Wild single. Tems is seen walking through the busy, jam-packed streets of Manhattan, lost in reflection and unaffected by those watching her. The montage of scenes from New York’s busiest borough perfectly complements her presence as she effortlessly stands out, singing while donning a white top and steely black jacket. Through her lens, Tems provides a snapshot of what it’s like to be thrust into stardom while dealing with the pressures of everyday life.

“Burning” arrives as Tems gears up for the Born In The Wild Tour, set to begin on August 22, 2024, in Miami, Florida. After Miami, she’s planned to stop in Orlando, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and 15 other cities. The tour will come to an end in Sydney, Australia on Friday, November 15.
