Tessa Thompson, famous for her role in Westworld, is set to headline a series adaptation of Alice Feeney’s 2020 thriller novel, His & Hers. Netflix has picked up this thrilling adaptation, green-lighting six episodes after the project lingered in development for four years.

The TV series, which shifts the narrative setting from London’s chilly backdrop to the sweltering heat of Atlanta, follows Anna (played by Thompson). Living in haunting reclusivity, Anna has been slowly fading away from her friends and her career as a journalist. However, she is jolted back to life upon overhearing news about a murder in her sleepy hometown of Dahlonega. Anna swiftly decides to delve into the case, hunting for answers.

Detective Jack Harper, who is suspiciously wary of Anna’s sudden involvement, begins to pursue her, intertwining their paths in a complex investigation. The series teases its viewers, hinting that there are always two sides to every story: his and hers, and inevitably, someone is always lying.

Dee Johnson, known for her work on Nashville and Fellow Travelers, will serve as a writer and showrunner. She will be joined by Bill Dubuque, the creator of Ozark, who will also serve as a writer and executive producer. Additionally, Thompson herself will take up an executive producer role alongside Jessica Chastain, Kelly Carmichael, Kishori Rajan, Kristen Campo, and William Oldroyd. Oldroyd, who will also serve as a writer, is slated to direct the first episode.

Tessa Thompson brings a rich resume to the table. Apart from her stint as Charlotte Hale in Westworld, her TV credentials include roles in Copper, 666 Park Avenue, and episodes of Dear White People and Portlandia. She has also lent her voice to Disney+’s What if…?, where she reprised her Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Valkyrie.
