‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Star Joan Vasso’s Season 1 Posters Released

The first season of The Golden Bachelorette is eagerly awaited, and first-look photos of season 1 star Joan Vassos are finally here. At 61 years old, Joan is embracing a timeless lesson: “Love never ages.”

In the season’s first poster, Joan holds up a golden rose, gazing off-camera as gold petals drift around her. Another shot captures the ABC star looking directly into the camera, still clutching her golden rose.

Audience members were first introduced to Joan during Gerry Turner’s stint on The Golden Bachelor. Joan had to leave the show unexpectedly because her daughter had just given birth, and she wanted to support her. Later, ABC announced that Joan would become the lead for The Golden Bachelorette.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Joan admitted she thought she would be forgotten after leaving The Golden Bachelor. “I truly believed that was gonna be the outcome,” she revealed in June. “I really was sad about that because I loved being here. I think the process worked. I was sad when I had to leave, so having the opportunity to come back and [having] people actually remember me a little bit [is amazing].”

She described the journey as a “quick” one, emphasizing the importance of making the most of every moment.

Regarding her current relationship with Gerry, 72, Joan said they “text all the time” and described him as a “very, very good friend.”

“He kind of created the roadmap that we have now,” Joan added, speaking of Gerry. “There’s no rulebook, and he kind of wrote it a little bit. He exemplified somebody who is very open and vulnerable. He said that’s what you need to be from day one because you don’t have a lot of time.”

Joan has faced her own loss, with her late husband passing away at the age of 59 from pancreatic cancer. The couple had four children together and were married for more than 30 years before his death.

Gerry, on the other hand, found happiness with Theresa Nist on The Golden Bachelor, but their love story was short-lived. They got married in January but announced their split less than four months later.

The Golden Bachelorette premieres on September 18 on ABC.
