‘The Voice’ Star Kelsea Ballerini Shares Heartbreaking Update on Her Pup

The Voice Season 27 coach, Kelsea Ballerini, recently shared a heartbreaking update about her beloved dog, Dibs. Known for her transparency with fans, she asked for prayers earlier without detailing the issue. Now, she has opened up about Dibs’ health, revealing a devastating prognosis.

Kelsea adopted Dibs in 2015 while feeling homesick and seeking companionship. The dog quickly became a comforting presence in her life. When Kelsea started dating Morgan Evans, Dibs was initially wary but soon bonded with him. After Kelsea and Morgan’s split, Dibs formed a friendship with Milo, the dog of her current boyfriend, Chase Stokes.

The new Voice coach, set to debut in Spring 2024, initially caused concern when she asked for prayers for Dibs without explaining why. Later, she reassured her fans that Dibs had made it through the night and was stable enough for medical tests. Unfortunately, the test results brought distressing news.

“The last few days we have discovered that dibby has inoperable cancer in his heart. He’s not in pain, and luckily it hasn’t spread further.”

Kelsea shared all the details through her Instagram story. She expressed that she couldn’t fully commit to promoting her new album, Patterns, during such a difficult time. Dibs will be on “big” medications to ensure he lives his remaining days as comfortably and happily as possible. Fortunately, Kelsea’s mother and Chase Stokes, whom she calls “the greatest dog dad in the world,” are supporting her.

Despite this challenging period, Kelsea has many incredible things ahead. Her upcoming album, Patterns, is set to release on October 25th. Additionally, she will be a coach for The Voice Season 27, which marks the return of original coach Adam Levine. Joining them will be Michael Bublé, starting his first season in Season 26, and John Legend. Kelsea remains hopeful that Dibs will receive all the positive energy and treatment he needs to surpass expectations.

Sending much love and strength to Kelsea. May she and Dibs feel the support and affection from their vast community.
