In just a couple of months, fans will get the chance to dive into The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 on AMC. Among the questions raised are the fates of Daryl’s new found-family, Isabelle and Laurent. But a major focus of the upcoming season is Carol, and for good reasons. This season is aptly sub-titled “The Book of Carol,” offering a deep dive into her experiences since Daryl’s journey overseas. Carol has a significant message to relay to Daryl, indicating that her quest is driven by more than mere nostalgia.

Speaking to The Wrap while at San Diego Comic-Con, Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, revealed some tantalizing details. She hinted at exploring themes and storylines that were previously left untouched in the original series. According to McBride:

“Without going into too much detail, we’re doing some things that I wanted to do in the original series … Deal with things, deal with the repercussions of loss and things like that. Things that just — unspoken things nobody had conversations about, and how everything that they’ve been through really affects them.”

Prepare for some powerful and emotional content. However, it’s safe to assume that the season will also include its share of zombie battles, staying true to the essence of the show.
