Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s Mom, Settles Divorce with Six-Figure Agreement

Tina Knowles is officially single again but it didn’t come without a price. The well-known stylist and beloved mother of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, has finalized her divorce from actor Richard Lawson. The news left fans in shock when the couple called it quits last year after eight years of marriage. Having known each other for 32 years and reconnecting after Knowles’ divorce from Matthew Knowles, they were seen as the ideal couple blending their families seamlessly.

The exact reason for their split remains a mystery. However, InTouch reported that Knowles had to pay Lawson a one-time lump sum of $300,000. Their divorce settlement includes a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). The agreement ensures that neither Lawson nor Knowles can speak negatively about each other or their respective children and spouses.

“With respect to the mutual desire to protect the privacy rights of any and all present or future grandchildren of either party, the parties agree that they will not, when asked by any media or person, discuss said grandchildren or future grandchildren whether verbally or in writing,” the NDA specifies.

In terms of what each party received in the settlement, Lawson was awarded a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, bank and retirement accounts, debts owed to Richard Lawson Studios, all royalties earned, and all creative works developed during their marriage.

Knowles was awarded her separate property, including her home in Los Angeles, a property in Texas, all furniture in those properties, all jewelry in her possession, her retirement accounts, and all earnings made since their separation. She also has to shoulder any personal debt accumulated during the marriage.

Lawson retained all rights to his studio, artwork, jewelry, clothing, royalties, and his SAG pension plan. The divorce was filed under “irreconcilable differences.”
