Tom Morello Gets Serenaded by Dave Grohl with ‘Times Like These’ Tribute

Foo Fighters and Tom Morello shared the stage at the Open’er Festival in Gdynia, Poland this weekend. During the event, Dave Grohl, the frontman of Foo Fighters, dedicated the band’s performance of “Times Like These” to Tom Morello, the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist. While Morello watched from the side, Grohl even walked over to give Morello an up-close view of the tribute before the two musicians embraced.

“Wild time last night at @Open’er Festival in Poland rocking out hard with Dave Grohl & Foo Fighters,” Morello shared, reflecting on the moment captured by photographer Aysia Marotta.

Fans of both musicians will remember that Morello, along with his mother, Mary, appeared in an episode of From Cradle to Stage. The 2021 docu-series, created by Grohl, is based on the book written by his late mother Virginia, From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.

Currently, Foo Fighters are concluding the European leg of their 2024 summer tour. They will soon return to the US for several stadium shows.

Meanwhile, Morello has also been busy. He recently released “Soldier in the Army of Love,” the lead single from his forthcoming solo rock album. Additionally, he was honored with the 2024 Woody Guthrie Prize.
