Tony Khan Confirms AEW’s Australia Debut, Discusses Future U.K. Shows

Over the last year, AEW has expanded its reach by taking live events international, bringing fans in various countries the opportunity to see their favorite stars in person. What started with promising turnouts in Canada quickly escalated into their most ambitious venture yet, last year’s AEW All In. This massive event saw over 80,000 people gathering at Wembley Stadium for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, opening new doors for the company. This week, AEW returned to London for the first-ever U.K. AEW Dynamite event and the second-annual All In pay-per-view.

Looking ahead, AEW plans to switch up their pay-per-view locations in 2025. It has been confirmed that next year’s AEW All In will take place at a destination that has been clamoring for an AEW pay-per-view since the company’s inception five years ago. Recent reports suggest AEW is considering branching out to Australia, sparking excitement among fans. Although no official confirmation was initially provided, AEW President Tony Khan addressed this during the AEW All In media call, revealing that discussions are underway to bring AEW to Australia in 2025.

“We can confirm that we’re currently looking at various locations in Australia to run an event sometime next year in 2025 potentially,” Khan said. “We’ll have more information about this in the near future. 2025 is going to be a milestone year.”

Amid these international ambitions, AEW is also in the midst of negotiating a new media rights deal that could result in a significant increase in revenue if they choose to continue their partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. Khan has praised the relationship between the two companies and has even mentioned visiting Warner Bros. Discovery executives, including David Zaslav, in Paris during the Olympics.

While there is some uncertainty about whether AEW will return to the U.K. in the future, Khan reassured fans that the possibility remains open. When asked if AEW would consider hosting another pay-per-view or TV event in the U.K. in 2025, he responded affirmatively.

“Certainly on the table. Definitely something we would consider. I absolutely love the UK,” he added. “I’ve spent a lot of my life living in England and specifically London. I love it. It’s great being back here and great traveling in the UK.”

AEW All In is set to take place this Sunday, August 25th at 12 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting event.
