To appreciate the magnitude of success Prime Video has achieved with “The Boys,” one just needs to look at its current top spot on Reelgood’s list of the top streaming TV shows this week.

The fourth season of this hit superhero series is not only concluding with rave reviews but also boasting over 55 million viewers. Adapted from the comic book series of the same name, “The Boys” has burgeoned into a sprawling universe of superpowered antiheroes and fan-favorite drama, leading Prime Video to create multiple spinoffs. One of these is “Gen V,” which focuses on college superhumans and is anticipated to return for its second season in 2025.

Moreover, fans can look forward to the show’s fifth and final season, set to debut in 2026. Additionally, early development is underway for “The Boys: Mexico,” featuring Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal. Scripts are also being written for “Vought Rising,” a prequel series starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.

All this points to an exciting time for fans of “The Boys.” The latest season is reportedly Prime Video’s fourth most-viewed season, only behind the first seasons of “Reacher,” “Fallout,” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” Showrunner Eric Kripke expressed his gratitude on social media, crediting the cast and crew for their hard work that has made the show a resounding success.

Reelgood monitors 20 million viewing choices each month across diverse streaming platforms and has found “The Boys,” leading the pack. For the seven-day period ending on July 24, the top 10 TV shows according to Reelgood are:

1. “The Boys” (Prime Video)
2. “House of the Dragon” (HBO/Max)
3. “Presumed Innocent” (Apple TV+)
4. “The Bear” (FX/Hulu)
5. “The Acolyte” (Disney+)
6. “Those About to Die” (Peacock)
7. “Lady in the Lake” (Apple TV+)
8. “Cobra Kai” (Netflix)
9. “Sunny” (Apple TV+)
10. “Evil” (Paramount+)

New additions to the list include Peacock’s “Those About to Die,” Apple’s “Lady in the Lake,” and Netflix’s enduringly popular “Cobra Kai.” The latter has evolved into one of Netflix’s longest-running original dramas and ranks as a Top 10 Netflix series in 83 countries this week.

“Cobra Kai” is such a colossal hit for Netflix that for its sixth and final season, which premiered on July 18, the streaming giant opted for an unprecedented three-part rollout. Traditionally, Netflix has favored releasing episodes in two halves for its major series, but this time they’ve opted to stretch it further.

As of now, the response to Season 6 from both critics and viewers has been quite positive. The Rotten Tomatoes audience score stands at 87%, while critics have given it a score of 78%. Fans can catch Part 2 of the final season on November 28, though they’ll have to wait until 2025 for Part 3.
