Tori Spelling and ‘90210’ Co-Star Brian Austin Green Didn’t Speak for 18 Years

Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green, known for their roles as Donna Martin and David Silver in Beverly Hills, 90210, experienced a deep friendship during the show’s decade-long run. However, after the series wrapped, their bond deteriorated and they didn’t speak for nearly twenty years.

Recently, Tori made a surprise appearance on Austin’s Oldish podcast. The two candidly discussed the fading of their friendship, revealing that they had not been in contact for 18 years. Rather than a dramatic fallout, they simply drifted apart following the show’s conclusion and neither took steps to reconnect.

According to Austin, he felt a lingering resentment due to Tori’s lack of effort to maintain their friendship. He mentioned running into her at her boyfriend Vincent Young’s home shortly after the show’s end, only to receive a cold response from Tori.

Austin’s final attempt to reconcile their friendship took place at the show’s DVD release party, where both attended with their respective partners—Tori with her ex-husband Dean McDermott, and Austin with his former wife Megan Fox. Again, he was disappointed when Tori did not acknowledge him, and even when he sought her out, she was unavailable.

On her part, Tori explained that their brief romantic relationship, which occurred before she started dating Vincent, contributed to the awkwardness. She felt that Austin disapproved of her then-toxic relationship with Vincent, prompting her to avoid him to steer clear of possible criticism.

Tori also shared how devastated she felt after their last conversation when Austin had promised that they would continue to see each other and take vacations together. Unfortunately, the opposite happened, leaving both feeling hurt. Austin, now 51, saw the friendship as one-sided since he was the one making efforts to call and visit without any reciprocation.

Luckily, Tori and Austin have now discussed their perspectives and seem ready to mend their long-standing misunderstanding, paving the way for a possible renewal of their friendship.
