Tori Spelling Celebrates Son Finn’s 12th Birthday on Instagram

It’s a big day in Tori Spelling’s house!

On Friday, Aug. 30, Spelling’s son Finn Davey turned 12, and she celebrated by posting a sweet tribute to him on Instagram Stories.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum first shared a picture of the now-12-year-old rocking baggy jeans, a Guns N’ Roses graphic T-shirt, and a fedora, alongside which she wrote, “This is 12!”

“Happy birthday,” she continued. “My baby ❤️.”

But she didn’t stop there — the mom of five posted another photo of her son, whom she shares with estranged husband Dean McDermott.

The actress concluded her tribute to Finn with a close-up shot of the curly-haired 12-year-old in which he appears quite sleepy as one of his ringlets hangs down his forehead.

Along with Finn, Spelling shares sons Liam Aaron, 17, and Beau Dean, 7, as well as daughters Stella Doreen, 16, and Hattie Margaret, 12, with McDermott, 57. She also has a close relationship with McDermott’s son Jack, 25, whom the actor welcomed with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.

Earlier this year, Spelling — who separated from McDermott in June 2023 and filed for divorce in May — opened up about her first Mother’s Day since officially ending her marriage.

In the May 17 episode of her podcast misSPELLING, the star said that the 2024 holiday was the first she’s experienced while “single’ and “going through a divorce, with [her] 5 kids.”

“Typically, I would plan something, like, for years,” she began. “I guess we’re conditioned to think you’re supposed to have Mother’s Day brunch. I don’t even know where that even initiated.”

“But every year, I felt the pressure like, ‘Oh, it’s Mother’s Day. We’re supposed to go to a brunch, and I would find some, like, great place and do that.’ And then the rest of the day was all about the kids,” she continued. “I was always on edge. Like, oh, it’s a time thing. We can’t relax. We have set plans.”

But this year, her eldest daughter Stella turned the tables, asking Spelling what she wanted to do for the holiday — several times. Eventually, Stella just told her mom, “No. I don’t want you to plan it. I know what you want. Let me handle it,” Spelling recalled.

The mom of five said the gesture took “so much pressure” off her after “all these years” of doing all of the planning herself.

In what she dubbed an “anti-Mother’s Day” celebration, Stella first took the family to dim sum, which Spelling is “a huge fan of,” and then to get a piercing or tattoo of her choice from one of her “favorite spots.”

“It was really great. And we had a great time, and we had tea and all of that,” Spelling said of the special day. “And I had some sake, and I was a happy, happy, happy mama.”
