Tragic Details of Charlie Sheen’s and Denise Richards’ Daughter Sami

The life of a nepo baby can’t be that hard — many people think that way. However, being a child of famous parents brings its own challenges. Sami Sheen knows this firsthand. Born to actors Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards in March 2004, Sami spent much of her early life away from the spotlight. But when Richards joined “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in 2019, viewers got occasional glimpses of Sami. Sami eventually made headlines in 2022 by joining the content subscription service OnlyFans. Inspired by a model she saw on the platform, Sami felt it offered freedom and control over her work hours, despite its reputation for explicit content.

Since joining OnlyFans, Sami’s name has been in the spotlight more often than during her entire childhood. She’s been more open than ever, sharing some of the tragic situations she’s endured.

Sami Sheen recently made a disturbing claim to her followers that she grew up in an abusive household. According to Page Six, in a now-private video, Sami shared a clip of her crying from a year prior. She wrote, “1 year ago today: trapped in an abusive household, hated myself, would go days without eating or sleeping, insanely depressed, hated school, etc…” The video then transitioned to a happier Sami who had moved out, experienced a spiritual awakening, and found self-love and independence.

According to Fox News, Sami’s accusations pointed toward her mother, Denise Richards, as she was living with her during this time. Sami eventually moved in with her dad, Charlie Sheen, and found more happiness there. While Sami did not provide specific details about why her home life with Richards was “abusive,” a close source defended Richards, stating that she was simply being a mom with rules that Sami didn’t want to follow, leading to tension.

Denise Richards hinted at her parenting struggles long before Sami Sheen moved out. In a 2020 episode of “RHOBH” (via Us Weekly), Richards admitted she was struggling with parenting her teenagers. She shared that Sami often did things to get a reaction. Their strained relationship became more evident when Sami moved out to live with Charlie Sheen. On Sirius XM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” Richards said, “Honestly, I have a strained relationship with her and it’s very difficult. I know we’ll get back to where we were eventually but right now, it is strained.” Despite their issues, Richards always kept her door open for Sami to return. It took some time, but they eventually started rebuilding their relationship.

Sami Sheen opened up about her struggle with nicotine addiction in a now-deleted TikTok video. She revealed she had been addicted for years and was planning to quit to undergo breast augmentation surgery. “I’m so scared, and I don’t know how I’m going to live without this thing,” she admitted. Facing her addiction was tough, but Sami saw the surgery as a push to quit. She eventually read Allen Carr’s “Easy Way to Quit Vaping,” which motivated her to dump her vapes and quit. She succeeded in quitting nicotine and got her surgery done afterward.

Sami Sheen has been candid about her mental health struggles. She shared with Bustle that she was in a difficult place when her mom was on “RHOBH.” “Looking back at clips of me in the ‘Housewives,’ you can tell I was going through it,” she revealed. Sami was dealing with severe depression during that time. Anxiety also plagued her, especially when considering quitting nicotine for her surgery. Despite these struggles, she has been more open with her followers about her day-to-day challenges, offering them a glimpse into her life and mental health journey.

Bullying is unfortunately common, and Sami Sheen experienced it as a child. In 2013, her father, Charlie Sheen, publicly claimed on Twitter that she was bullied in school. He urged aggressive action against the bullies. Although Sami never confirmed these incidents, she has faced criticism throughout her life. When she posted her plastic surgery transformation on Instagram, users criticized her harshly. From childhood bullying to adult criticism, Sami has had to develop resilience to continue with her life.
