Travis Scott Released Without Charges After Arrest at Paris Hotel, Reps Say

Travis Scott has been released from custody with no charges after a confrontation with a hotel security guard.

“Travis Scott has been released with no charges,” a representative for the “My Eyes” rapper confirmed in an emailed statement to USA TODAY on Saturday morning. Paris police officials verified this information in a separate email to USA TODAY.

According to a translation of the email, Paris officials stated that the case has “been closed” and Scott’s custody concluded Saturday.

The “Sicko Mode” rapper was initially taken into custody early Friday. This followed allegations of him attacking a security guard at Paris’ luxury Georges V hotel. The altercation reportedly arose after the security guard tried to break up a fight between Scott and his bodyguard, French prosecutors confirmed to USA TODAY on Friday.

Scott, 33, was detained for “unspecified violence,” as stated by the prosecutor’s office, which also noted the opening of an investigation.

“We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter,” a representative for Scott mentioned in the emailed statement.

On Thursday, the “Goosebumps” rapper was seen in the stands with Migos alum and “Greatness” hitmaker Quavo. They were watching the Olympics men’s basketball semifinal game between Team USA and Team Serbia.

The Paris incident is noted as the Houston native’s second reported arrest in recent months. In June, he was arrested in Miami following an alleged incident at a marina. The rapper was booked at a Miami-Dade County correctional center on charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication, according to online records.

Officers had responded to a disturbance on one of the yachts, where a fight was occurring on the vessel, as noted in the arrest affidavit. Authorities observed Scott by the dock, yelling at the people onboard. When officers approached the rapper, he “began continuously standing back up,” disregarding commands to sit down, with a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, police reported.
