Trent Alexander-Arnold & Jude Bellingham Bond on Holiday Amid Transfer Rumors

Liverpool supporters might be feeling a bit uneasy about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s relationship with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, as rumors of a move to the Spanish capital for the Reds ace continue to swirl.

Ironically, back in 2022, Reds fans had hoped that Alexander-Arnold and then-Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson would persuade Bellingham to join Anfield from Dortmund. However, Bellingham chose to join Real Madrid last summer, leading to him lifting both the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy earlier this year.

Now, it seems Bellingham might be doing his best to tempt Alexander-Arnold away from Liverpool next summer, when the latter’s current contract ends. Alexander-Arnold will be out of contract in 2025 and come January, he will have the freedom to negotiate with Real Madrid.

The duo, who are known to be good friends, were recently spotted partying in Los Angeles during their extended holidays following England’s Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain. It’s entirely plausible that Bellingham is trying to convince Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool for Madrid.

Real Madrid has recently signed Kylian Mbappe to lead their attack alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. With Dani Carvajal turning 33 in January, Alexander-Arnold could be seen as the long-term successor to the Spanish right-back.

Losing Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer would undoubtedly be a significant blow for Liverpool. He is a world-class footballer capable of changing a game’s dynamics with a single pass.

A deal for Alexander-Arnold might already be in the works, possibly alleviating concerns about losing the England ace for nothing. Nevertheless, the fact that Liverpool has allowed their star player to enter the final year of his deal reflects poor planning. Clubs usually lock down their best players, especially when they are in their prime.

While a departure from Liverpool would be heartbreaking for Reds supporters, it would also be a difficult decision for Alexander-Arnold, a product of Liverpool’s academy who has spent his entire career on Merseyside.

At 25, Alexander-Arnold holds significant negotiating power. If Liverpool doesn’t offer a lucrative new deal, he will have his pick of top European clubs, with Real Madrid likely at the forefront.

England teammate Anthony Gordon highlighted their relationship during Euro 2024, noting how close Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham are. “They get on really well. They’re always together—breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” Gordon said.

“You always see one with the other. It’s a good relationship and it has obviously benefitted them because now Trent’s moving to the midfield.”

He continued, “It benefits Jude because they’re friends and can help each other. Trent is new to the position and will need Jude’s help sometimes. Their friendship and relationship will be a significant aid.”
