Trump Campaign Pulls “Freedom” Clip After Beyoncé Blocks Track Use

Donald Trump’s campaign has removed a video featuring one of Beyoncé’s songs after her record label and publishers took action to block its unauthorized use.

MAGA campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung had posted a video clip on Tuesday, showing the former president exiting a plane upon his arrival in Michigan. The soundtrack to the clip was Beyoncé’s song “Freedom,” a track that has been officially adopted by Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign with the artist’s permission. Cheung captioned the post with, “Touchdown in Michigan!! @realDonaldTrump”.

Rolling Stone reported that Beyoncé threatened Trump with a cease-and-desist notice over the use of the song, which was featured on her 2016 album “Lemonade”. According to a source mentioned by the outlet, the former president had not obtained the necessary permissions to use the track.

Beyoncé, who is rumored to perform at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Thursday, has not made any public statements regarding the situation with Trump, according to The Guardian. This incident places her among a list of musicians who have publicly opposed Trump’s use of their music during his rallies and events. This list includes artists such as Celine Dion, Phil Collins, Johnny Marr, and the estates of Tom Petty and Sinead O’Connor.
