  • Trump earned $300,000 in royalties from endorsing ‘The Greenwood Bible.’
  • The Greenwood Bible, also known as the ‘God Bless the USA Bible,’ includes patriotic texts.
  • Trump’s financial disclosure shows $4.5 million from ‘Letters to Trump’ royalties amid legal fees.

Former President Donald Trump recently made headlines with his financial disclosure revealing substantial earnings from an endorsement deal involving a Bible. The document, released on Thursday, indicates Trump received $300,000 in royalty payments for endorsing “The Greenwood Bible.”

This particular Bible is officially titled the “God Bless the USA Bible,” named in homage to the popular song by Lee Greenwood, who is a noted figure in GOP circles and has also endorsed this version of the scripture.

The retail price for “The Greenwood Bible” stands at $59.99, not including shipping and taxes. However, for those wishing to own a signed edition by Trump, they face a significant markup, with prices reaching as high as $1,000.

The Bible uniquely combines religious texts with non-religious elements, featuring the lyrics to the chorus of “God Bless The USA,” alongside foundational American documents such as the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Despite its patriotic content, the marketing for the Bible explicitly states that it is “not political” and is “not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump.”

Trump took to social media in March to promote the Bible, expressing strong opinions on the role of religion and Christianity in America. He stated, “Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country,” emphasizing the need for their return.

He also remarked, “All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many; it’s my favorite book.” Trump concluded his post with the phrase, “Let’s make America pray again.”

In addition to his income from the Bible, Trump’s financial disclosure reported approximately $4.5 million earned from royalties related to “Letters to Trump.” This compilation features letters he exchanged with various world leaders, celebrities, and other notable figures.

However, the substantial royalties he earned stand in stark contrast to the heavy legal expenses he faces. The disclosure reveals that Trump is grappling with over $100 million in liabilities stemming from three civil lawsuits currently active in New York City. Among these, two are linked to the high-profile sexual abuse allegations involving author E. Jean Carroll.

Moreover, a recent analysis highlighted that in 2023 alone, Trump has spent over $52 million on legal fees, drawing these funds primarily from donor contributions via his political action committees, “Save America” PAC and “Make America Great Again” PAC.

A spokesperson for Trump was unavailable for immediate comment regarding these disclosures, as no response was provided outside of regular business hours.
