Twisters Post-Credits Scene Explained

Lee Isaac Chung’s new film, titled “Twisters,” is currently showing in theaters. The movie stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell, and many are wondering if it includes a post-credits scene.

In “Twisters,” Daisy Edgar-Jones portrays Kate, a former storm chaser who quit the field after experiencing a traumatic accident. Five years later, her old teammate Javi, played by Anthony Ramos, convinces her to rejoin the storm-chasing fray for one week. It is during this time that Kate meets Tyler Owen, played by Glen Powell, a social media star with over a million followers who is also involved in storm chasing.

The two develop a competitive rivalry that drives the narrative of “Twisters.” As the plot progresses, Kate begins to suspect that the company Javi works for has hidden motives. She discovers that Riggs, played by David Born, is attempting to buy properties that have been damaged by storms.

As the story reaches its climax, Kate and Tyler collaborate. After a heated argument with Scott, portrayed by David Corenswet, Javi abandons him and saves Tyler, who is in a life-threatening situation during a storm. The trio then helps civilians seek refuge in an abandoned movie theater, but the storm’s intensity manages to breach even these walls.

In an act of self-sacrifice, Kate drives Tyler’s truck into the eye of the storm and releases her weather-controlling solution, effectively stopping the tornado.

At the movie’s conclusion, there is a final airport scene where Tyler meets Kate before her departure. He asks when they will see each other again, to which she enigmatically responds, “If you feel it, chase it.” Tyler decides to follow her into the airport, and just as they seem poised for a romantic moment, an announcement broadcasts that all flights are delayed due to bad weather, hinting at more adventures to come.

As the credits start rolling, viewers are treated to a series of newspaper clippings and video snippets that offer glimpses into the future lives of the characters. These clips show that Tyler, Kate, and Javi are now working together. The headlines and articles flash by quickly, making it difficult to read the details.

There is one more segment, a semi-full scene, during the credits. Kate teases Tyler about his face being featured on a T-shirt, even joking that she would like one of her own. Boone, a crew member played by Brandon Perea, humorously expresses his willingness to wear such a shirt, leading Tyler to jokingly question his loyalty.

This mid-credits scene is a light-hearted moment, likely a deleted scene, that wraps up the film nicely without setting the stage for a sequel as is often done in Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Regarding the possibility of a sequel, nothing has been confirmed yet. “Twisters” does not hint at a follow-up in its mid-credits scene, but if the movie performs well at the box office, Universal Studios might consider another installment. Let’s hope it doesn’t take as long to produce the next one as it did for this sequel.

“Twisters” hit theaters on July 19.
