Valhalla Season 1 Arrives on DVD and Blu-ray This Month

Despite the series being a Netflix Original, it is getting a DVD and Blu-ray release date. This will be linked with the production contracts, and it’s likely tied to the fact that it is a spin-off of Vikings, which went to DVD and Blu-ray due to the show airing on History.

Vikings: Valhalla picks up 100 years after the events of the original series, so don’t worry if you don’t remember much from that show. We follow the lives of the new rulers of Kattegat, and you know that there are those coming to take over the town once more.

As of right now, only the first season of the series will come to DVD and Blu-ray. This will be to ensure that Netflix keeps as many subscribers as possible. It’s been two and a half years since the first season arrived on Netflix, so we’re probably looking at this pattern for future seasons of the series.

The good news is there isn’t too long to wait, now. Vikings: Valhalla Season 1 is a surprise DVD listing for Tuesday, Aug. 27. That’s this Tuesday!
