Vince Vaughn Returns to TV, Delivers Big Laughs (Exclusive)

Vince Vaughn is making a buzz with his return to TV in the new crime dramedy Bad Monkey. Known for his deadpan humor and improvisational skills, Vaughn’s new role has stirred quite the excitement among his co-stars.

In a behind-the-scenes look, Vaughn’s fellow cast members shared their experiences working with him.

“Vince Vaughn is a hero of mine,” Zach Braff confessed. “When I saw Swingers, it made me want to be an actor like that, who could come up with jokes on the spot.” Braff added that finally getting to act alongside Vaughn was a dream come true, marking a significant moment in his career.

Michelle Monaghan, another co-star, mentioned, “Vince lives for improv.” Meredith Hagner also weighed in, saying Vaughn’s humor is grounded and realistic, adding depth to his comedic performances.

Show creator and showrunner Bill Lawrence couldn’t help but praise Vaughn for his contributions. “Watching him do that up-close and making stuff that we wrote better, it was a pleasure,” Lawrence said, acknowledging Vaughn’s ability to elevate the material and inspire his fellow actors.

Bad Monkey is adapted from Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 book of the same name. The storyline follows Andrew Yancy, played by Vaughn, a former police detective down on his luck and now working as a restaurant inspector in Southern Florida.

Yancy’s mundane life takes a sharp turn after a tourist discovers a severed human arm. This gruesome find pulls him back into a world of intrigue involving the Florida underworld, corruption, and those in power.

Bad Monkey premieres Aug. 14 on Apple TV+.
