VOTE: Best Guitar God – Slash or Tony Iommi

Who is the greater guitar god – Slash or Tony Iommi? This debate features two undeniable legends in heavy music, both of whom have laid down some of the most iconic licks ever heard on guitar. The question of which one stands out the most is at the heart of this week’s Chuck’s Fight Club on Loudwire Nights.

Slash made a grand entrance into the music scene in the 1980s with Guns N’ Roses. He delivered unforgettable guitar parts on timeless tracks like “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Paradise City,” and “November Rain.” Beyond his work with Guns N’ Roses, Slash has also built a successful solo career and has been a sought-after guest guitarist for many artists, solidifying his status as one of the biggest names in heavy guitar music.

On the flip side, Tony Iommi is credited with being a key part of one of metal’s pioneering bands, Black Sabbath. His distinctive guitar work is featured on classics such as “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “War Pigs.” Like Slash, Iommi has ventured into solo projects and contributed significantly to the Sabbath spinoff band Heaven and Hell.

In typical Chuck’s Fight Club fashion, Loudwire Nights host Chuck Armstrong will introduce both legends during the 8PM hour on Monday. The case for Iommi will be presented at 8PM on Tuesday, followed by Slash’s turn on Wednesday at the same time. Fans will have the entire week to register their opinions, with the ultimate winner being revealed during a music block on Friday at 8PM on Loudwire Nights.

A friendly reminder, Loudwire Nights with Chuck Armstrong airs nightly starting at 7PM ET. Tune in anytime from anywhere through the show’s streaming link or by downloading the Loudwire app.
