Voting Open for 2024 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards: See Nominees!

The only award season that truly matters for horror fans is back! The complete list of nominees for the 2024 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards has just been released. In a world where horror often gets overlooked by mainstream award shows, this is the one event we can count on year after year to spotlight our favorite genre.

Last year’s Chainsaw Awards saw big wins for movies like The Black Phone, Terrifier 2, and Prey. This year, the categories are packed once again with standout films such as Abigail, Evil Dead Rise, The First Omen, Talk To Me, and Late Night with the Devil among the nominees.

Individual performances are also getting their due recognition. Tobin Bell’s performance in Saw X and Kathryn Newton’s roles in both Lisa Frankenstein and Abigail are highlighted. Horror has been on a fantastic run lately, and this year’s awards promise to celebrate the best of the best.

Traditional categories such as Best Wide Release, Best First Feature, Best Limited Release, and Best Lead Performance are back. But this year, there’s a fresh addition: Best Video Game. Fan favorites like Dead Space Remake, Alan Wake 2, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre are vying for the title.

As always, the “Best Kill” category remains open for write-in votes. Fans can choose their most memorable and gruesome scenes. While the leg trap/bone marrow extract scene from Saw X gets one nod, other bloody moments like the super gory yoga kill from In a Violent Nature or the carnage-filled scenes from Abigail are also in the mix.
