Watch BTS Star Jimin’s Show-Stopping ‘Who’ Performance on ‘Fallon’

BTS star Jimin showcased his latest solo single “Who” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Monday, July 22. The track is featured on his second solo album “MUSE,” released on July 19.

Jimin is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service in South Korea, having enlisted in December 2023. His performance on Fallon was recorded prior to his enlistment, as reported by Deadline.

The high-energy performance took place in an artfully staged abandoned building, featuring Jimin alongside a group of dancers. It began with his emotive vocals and intricate choreography that perfectly matched the song’s longing lyrics.

“We never met, but she’s all I see at night/Never met but she’s always on my mind,” Jimin confessed in the video, before continuing: “Wanna give her the world and so much more/Who is my heart waiting for?”

This is not Jimin’s first appearance on the late-night show. In March of the previous year, he made his U.S. solo debut performing his ‘80s-inspired song “Like Crazy.” He also had a conversation with Fallon, discussing topics such as meeting President Joe Biden and staying connected with his BTS bandmates.

In June, Jimin announced his second solo album “Muse”. BigHit Music described the album as showcasing his “expanded musical spectrum.” The album continues his exploration of identity that began with his first solo album “Face”. “Muse” aims to document his journey in search of the source of his inspiration.

The album also features collaborations with artists like Loco and Sofia Carson, contributing to its diverse sound.

Earlier this week, “Muse” topped a new music poll that included various genre artists. Fans voted in a poll published on Billboard, selecting the BTS star’s second solo album as their favorite new music release of the week. “Muse” secured 68% of the vote, far ahead of new releases from Stray Kids, Joe Jonas, JADE, Childish Gambino, and more.

Following the success of 2023’s “Face,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, “Muse” continues Jimin’s experimental journey in music. Jimin first debuted solo in 2018 with “Promise” and became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy” in 2023. He is also set to release a docu-series, “Are You Sure?!”, with Jung Kook, chronicling their travels.
