Watch Live: Angelina Jolie Arrives at Venice Film Fest Before Brad Pitt

Watch live as Angelina Jolie and filmmaker Pablo Larrain arrive at the Venice Film Festival to present their film “Maria.”

Premiering on Thursday night (29 August), the biographical psychological drama stars Jolie as the legendary soprano Maria Callas. Callas, who had an extraordinary but brief career, is remembered as one of the greatest opera singers of all time, celebrated for her unparalleled voice and captivating stage presence.

Callas passed away at the age of 53 from a heart attack.

Ahead of the festival, Larrain shared that Jolie underwent six months of rigorous training to prepare for the role. The singing in the film, which reportedly focuses on the final week of Callas’s life in 1977, is a mix of Jolie’s voice and original recordings of Callas.

Adding to the anticipation, Jolie’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt, is also expected to attend the film festival on Saturday. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Venice artistic director Alberto Barbera mentioned that organizers took special care to keep the screening times of Jolie and Pitt’s movies from overlapping.

The Venice Film Festival is also set to welcome other high-profile celebrities, including Cate Blanchett, Daniel Craig, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Julianne Moore, Kevin Costner, and Joaquin Phoenix.
