Watch Luke Combs Shotgun a Beer with the ‘Twisters’ Cast

Luke Combs celebrated the release of the movie Twisters in a memorable way on Friday night (July 19).

During his stadium tour stop in New Jersey, the singer paused the show to do something quite familiar to his fans: shotgunning a beer onstage. But this time, there was a unique twist—three twists, to be exact.

Combs was joined by Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos, three of the stars from Twisters. As the trio walked onstage holding beer cans, the crowd erupted in applause. They greeted Combs with hugs, shotgunned their beers, and then tossed the cans into the cheering audience.

In a video posted to Combs’ social media, it is clear that Edgar-Jones felt a bit uneasy about the stunt. She made an attempt but eventually passed her half-full can to Powell, who happily finished it for her.

“Hey Twisters cast, what you say we shotgun one?!” Combs wrote in the caption of his post.

Combs is among several country music stars contributing music to the Twisters soundtrack. His song, “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” is featured alongside tracks by Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Megan Moroney, Thomas Rhett, and more.

Twisters serves as a sequel to the 1996 hit film Twister. According to IMDb, the original film follows a group of storm chasers working to create an advanced weather warning system, putting them in the direct path of extremely violent tornadoes.

The new film has already been a box office success. According to The Hollywood Reporter, its domestic opening weekend brought in $74.6 million. If these numbers hold, it might become the highest-grossing opening for any natural disaster film, not adjusted for inflation.
