One Piece has been inching forward into a new phase of the Egghead Arc with every new episode of the anime. However, the latest episode took a detour to spotlight a major showdown between Red-Haired Shanks and Eustass Kid.
One Piece’s Egghead Arc has heralded the onset of the Final Saga, serving as the inaugural substantial arc in the grand conclusion of Eiichiro Oda’s extensive franchise. This means monumental events are unfolding while Luffy and the Straw Hats find themselves dispersed across the legendary Dr. Vegapunk’s futuristic island laboratory.

Amid these endeavors, Red-Haired Shanks has once again become an active player in the series following the conclusion of the Wano Country arc. Now, he’s determinedly seeking out the final Road Ponegliffs to claim the One Piece treasure. However, Eustass Kid has intercepted Shanks’ path on Elbaf, resulting in a fiercely executed battle that highlights the disparity in power and expertise between the Worst Generation members and arguably the most formidable of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Shanks. Take a look at the action below:

One Piece Episode 1112 returns the spotlight to Elbaf where Kid has thrown down the gauntlet to Shanks. Harboring a long-standing grudge against Shanks’ crew for the loss of his arm, Kid is desperate to carve out a reputation for himself as he inches closer to his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates. Kid’s resolve saw him decimate a wave of Shanks’ grand fleet, compelling the Emperor to step in and deal with Kid directly to prevent an ominous future as foreseen by his Observation Haki.

Witnessing this dreadful potential, Shanks intervenes decisively, launching a Divine Departure that instantly topples Kid and leaves his ship in ruins. It’s unveiled that Killer also suffers damage in a bid to shield Kid from Shanks’ assault. The final blow comes when Dorry and Broggy deliver a crushing strike, sinking Kid’s ship entirely. Much like Law’s defeat to Blackbeard, yet another Worst Generation crew meets its demise at the hands of an Emperor. For now, another of Luffy’s present rivals is sidelined in the race towards the One Piece.
