Watch Snail Mail Cover ‘Supersonic’ in Tribute to Oasis Reunion

Snail Mail, also known as Lindsey Jordan, has long expressed her admiration for Oasis. This week, she paid tribute to the recently reunited Manchester band during her performance at Central Park’s SummerStage in New York. Jordan captivated the audience with a cover of Oasis’ 1994 single “Supersonic.”

After delivering a grungy rendition of the song, during a show that also featured Tim Heidecker and Fenne Lily, Jordan enthusiastically exclaimed, “Welcome back, Oasis.”

Jordan has previously covered Oasis tracks, including fan favorites like “Wonderwall” and “Live Forever.” Earlier this week, she shared an Instagram story showing her excitement to purchase tickets for Oasis’ 2025 tour, an announcement that has generated significant buzz since it was made on Tuesday.

In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jordan shared her affinity for Oasis, commenting on how their music helps her prepare for performances. “I love Oasis,” she said. “Listening to them gets my head in the game. And I f—ing love the 1975. You’ve got to have a certain attitude when you get on the stage, and the 1975 puts me in that place. It’s very confident music, catchy and full of attitude. I don’t know what it is about British people and rock music. They just do it a little cooler.”

Last month, Jordan released her cover of the Smashing Pumpkins classic “Tonight Tonight.” The track was originally recorded for Jane Schoenbrun’s critically acclaimed film, I Saw the TV Glow, which also marked Jordan’s acting debut.

The cover of “Tonight Tonight” is her first new release since last year’s Valentine (Demos) EP. This four-song set included early versions of songs from her 2021 LP Valentine, along with a new track titled “Easy Thing.”

Snail Mail has embarked on a short tour this month, kicking off on Aug. 26 at the Prescott Parks Art Festival in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The tour will continue through Sept. 8, concluding at the Fillmore in Philadelphia.
