Twisters hit theaters over the weekend, earning an astonishing $123.2 million already. The marketing leading up to the film’s release was incredible, teasing the motion picture starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones and the soundtrack featuring today’s most prominent names in country music.

The combination of both a great film and stellar music makes for a cultural phenomenon, and Twisters has achieved just that. The action-packed follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster Twister showcases a fictional story but simulates the exhilarating yet terrifying feeling of chasing storms. With the rumbles of thunder booming and the wind rushing through the movie theater speakers, it’s quite the cinematic experience.

However, some theaters have bumped up the experience even more with a 4DX viewing. For those unfamiliar with 4DX, it is when the movie is accompanied by physical simulations like motion seats, water, strobe lights, simulated wind, and even scents. So, you can imagine the 4DX experience would be pretty thrilling for a movie based around tornadoes.

Social media has taken off, with users uploading their videos from watching Twisters in 4DX. If you want to see the film this way, it appears you’d need a tight lid on any drink or snack. The seats are flying around, the wind will be whipping through your hair, and much more.

TikTok has also exploded with viewers uploading some intense scenes onto the platform, which genuinely looks like a rollercoaster. No wonder 4DX ticket sales for Twisters are $2.1 million, making it 30% higher than the previous record holder. I might have to find a 4DX theater nearby and go see this again.

Check it out. Oh, and maybe make sure you have something to keep things dry…as these before and after clips show, you might look like a wet dog walking out of the theater.
