We Now Know How Jenn’s ‘Bachelorette’ Season Ends—and I Totally Called It

Warning: Spoilers ahead

Alright, Bachelor Nation fans. The time has finally come…and no, I’m not talking about Joan’s debut as the Golden Bachelorette (yet). It’s the finale of The Bachelorette and Jenn Tran has made her decision…

But before I get to who Jenn selected to receive her final rose, let me quickly revisit a Bachelorette finale theory I came upon several weeks ago—one that totally turned out to be true.

Per the theory I discovered on a Reddit discussion thread, Jenn doesn’t get proposed to in the end…she’s the one who does the proposing.

All season long, we’ve been seeing trailers for the big dramatic finale which host Jesse Palmer warned us about. In the most predictable of quotes, Palmer said, “No Bachelorette has ever ended her journey like this.” Sure, Jesse. Pretty sure you say that every season.

But in this case, the twist turned out to be true. According to the aforementioned Reddit theory, one user speculated, “I think Jenn will propose to the future fiancé. Hear me out. In the first clip she says, ‘I can’t let you propose to me.'” The user continued, “Jesse says, ‘No bachelorette has ever done this before.’ I think Jenn will bend the knee at the end.” Once I read this back in July, I knew it had to be right.

Now, here we are with the final episode. And Jenn got engaged to…Devin!

Late in the episode, we got Jenn’s full quote, “I really need to follow my heart today. Going into today, I thought I knew which way I wanted it to go, and I woke up this morning with a totally different point of view on it… I have to choose myself. I’m not going to let Devin propose to me today—I’m going to propose to Devin.” Boom, mic drop! But then…

In a second, unexpected twist, Jenn revealed that the engagement and the relationship were no more. “As soon as we left Hawaii, things were different,” she told Jesse. Oh, and the last time she saw Devin? Back in July. Yikes. The two then confronted each other on camera and…it was awkward. And then it was…doubly awkward as they watched their proposal footage, where Jenn does, in fact, propose to Devin (before he then proposes back to her).

Another dramatic season of The Bachelorette is in the books. And luckily, we already have season 29 of The Bachelor headed our way this January.
