Wednesday Star Hints at a Viral Dance in Season 2

Filmmakers often struggle to predict which scenes from movies or TV shows will go viral upon release. One such unexpected viral moment was Jenna Ortega’s dance in the Addams Family spinoff “Wednesday.” The dance not only captured public attention but also spawned numerous memes. Fans are now curious if the upcoming Season 2 will feature another viral moment, specifically if it will include a dance sequence. However, Ortega recently shared her thoughts, stating she’s currently unaware of any such scene, having only filmed four episodes for the next season. Season 2 of “Wednesday” is slated to hit Netflix in 2025.

When asked by Extra if viewers can expect another viral dance, Ortega responded, “Oh, my God, not that I’m aware of. I’m not looking ahead at the schedule, I fear maybe I’ll see something.”

Even without a standout dance number, Ortega assured fans that they could still look forward to memorable scenes. “We have really incredible set pieces, is what I would say. We’ve only done four episodes so far, but every episode has one strong, outstanding scene or factor which is nice. Not to describe it like a movie, like they’re all movies, because they’re not, but this season just feels like we’re getting a bit more of an opportunity to do the things we wanted to accomplish in the first one, just maybe didn’t have the resources or faith and we just have a lot more trust this season, which is really great,” she teased.

Ortega revealed that predicting which moments from a show or movie will go viral is almost impossible. Interestingly, she choreographed the viral dance sequence herself, drawing inspiration from various performers. While she appreciates the fans’ connection to the scene, she also expressed some regrets over the attention it garnered.

Reflecting on the scene’s unexpected popularity, Ortega told Entertainment Tonight in 2023, “No, even that, I still can’t believe. Some of the moves I had planned, some of it was improv-ed. That was one of the scenes that I stay awake at night thinking about. There was so much I could have done and should have done. So, the fact that anyone has shown any appreciation or even tried it themselves is unfathomable to me.”

Season 2 of “Wednesday” is expected to land on Netflix in 2025.
