WEEI Revamps Daytime Lineup, Letting Go of Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria

Audacy, the parent company of WEEI, has announced significant changes to its midday programming. Adam Jones and Rich Keefe will reunite to take over the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. time slot.

WEEI, which has seen a decline in its daytime programming ratings despite strong performance from its morning show, made several moves on Wednesday, including the dismissal of midday hosts Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria.

Jones, who was previously hosting the afternoon drive show “Jones and Mego” since January 2023, will team up with Keefe, who has been the evening host on WEEI. The duo previously worked together on the evening “Adam Jones Show” on 98.5 The Sports Hub, making their reunion a familiar and anticipated collaboration for listeners.

In addition to Jones and Keefe’s new roles, Meghan Ottolini, also known as “Mego,” will be transitioning into a full-time writing role at the station. Ottolini will also be available as a fill-in host when needed.

The new midday team of Jones and Keefe is set to replace former hosts Gresh and Fauria. Fauria, who is a former Patriots tight end, has been a recognizable voice on the station, but the changes come as part of WEEI’s efforts to revamp its lineup.

In another shift, Andy Hart, who was a writer and fill-in host and also hosted the “6 Rings” Patriots podcast, will join Christian Arcand in the afternoon drive slot. Arcand was the third voice on the previous “Jones and Mego” show, and his continuity with Hart is expected to bring a blend of familiarity and fresh insights to the afternoon drive.

The station has yet to decide who will take over Keefe’s evening slot. According to Mike Thomas, Audacy Boston’s Senior Vice President and Market Manager, a decision has not been finalized.

These changes are part of WEEI’s broader strategy to regain its footing in the competitive radio market. By bringing back popular hosts like Jones and Keefe, and leveraging existing talent such as Hart and Arcand, WEEI aims to strengthen its programming and appeal to a wider audience.

Listeners can expect these changes to bring a new energy to WEEI’s lineup, with the familiarity of well-known hosts and the introduction of fresh content. As the station navigates these transitions, it remains to be seen how the audience will respond to the new program structure.

Overall, WEEI’s latest moves signify a notable shift in its approach to engage listeners and enhance its programming. With the return of dynamic duos and reorganization of time slots, the station is positioning itself for a competitive comeback in the radio landscape.
