WEEI Revamps Weekday Programming

On Tuesday, WEEI in Boston announced numerous changes to its weekday programming, resulting in the departure of two significant personalities. According to an Audacy press release, Adam Jones and Rich Keefe will reunite on a new midday show. The duo previously worked together on the Adam Jones Show on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Jones had been co-hosting the afternoon drive show Jones and Mego with Meghan Ottolini. With the changes, Ottolini will now focus on her role as a full-time writer for the station and act as a fill-in host.

The midday slot was previously filled by Christian Fauria and Andy Gresh’s Gresh and Fauria Show. Although the press release did not provide details about their status, Chad Finn of the Boston Globe reported that both will be leaving the station.

Fauria is a well-known figure among New England sports fans, remembered for his stint with the New England Patriots from 2002-2005. The news of his departure could draw criticism towards WEEI. There is no official information yet on why Fauria and Gresh are leaving, but the two recently had a public spat with former Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon, who has since been traded to the Atlanta Falcons.

Additional changes include the formation of a new afternoon show called The WEEI Afternoon Show, which will feature Andy Hart and Christian Arcand and is set to debut on August 27th.

Mike Thomas, the Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Audacy Boston, expressed excitement for what’s ahead. He stated, “These exciting updates bring together a dynamic mix of talent with New England roots that will continue to deliver top-tier content to Boston’s biggest sports fans. Adam Jones and Rich Keefe’s notable on-air styles and rapport will energize our midday show, while Andy Hart and Christian Arcand’s experience will help bolster afternoon drive.”

Thomas added, “We’re looking forward to this next chapter of WEEI weekdays, continuing to make WEEI the go-to destination for everything Boston sports.”
