‘Welcome to Plathville’: Olivia Dating, Prefers Ethan to Stay Single

Now that she has confirmed a man in her life, she doesn’t want her ex, Ethan Plath, to date a woman. This has left many TLC fans wondering why what’s good for Olivia doesn’t seem to apply to Ethan.

Sometimes, viewers might forget that Ethan’s ex came from a very religious family and never had the opportunity to date many men. In her own words, she married the first man who held her hand. While she appears mature and intelligent on social media, relationships can still be daunting. It seems she’s eager to jump into another one as soon as possible.

The sixth season of Welcome to Plathville reveals that both Olivia Plath and Ethan are looking for new partners. It’s unclear why they are both in such a hurry to find someone else, but it’s undoubtedly a daunting experience for both of them. On July 24, US Weekly ran a story about the TLC stars. In their interview with Ethan’s ex, Olivia confirmed that she’s dating but doesn’t want her ex to do the same thing. She discussed how social media presents more challenges for relationships compared to the show. According to her, the cast on TLC can “control” their storyline to some extent. She expressed her desire for Ethan to remain single.

Olivia Plath admitted to the outlet:

As somebody who is married to him, I’m gonna say, ‘Please stay single.” There’s a lot there to work through. He has said this on the show, right? Being very anti-therapy or counseling, I would say please look into that. I know what I experienced. Being a part of that family dynamic, it was very, very hard. I think it’s hard for anyone as a spouse to know that family always comes first…
