Wembley Bids Farewell to Taylor Swift After 8 Sold-Out Shows

After Wembley Stadium in London hosted eight sold-out shows on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the venue wished the “Cruel Summer” singer goodbye.

Wembley Stadium took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to bid farewell to Swift. They revealed a Wembley-themed guitar specially designed for her, accompanied by a nod to one of her biggest hits.

“In recognition of becoming the first solo artist to play Wembley Stadium eight times on a single tour, we gifted Taylor Swift her own personalized Wembley Guitar,” the post stated. “So long, Taylor. It was enchanting.”

The guitar features the message, “So long, Taylor. It’s been a Wembley love story.”

Additionally, the stadium shared a note attached to the guitar in a separate post. The note thanked Swift for eight “unforgettable” shows, which cemented her status as the “biggest-selling” female artist in the venue’s storied history.

“You are now, officially, the biggest-selling female artist to ever perform at Wembley Stadium, and we think that is something to celebrate,” the note read. “We hope your very own Wembley Stadium guitar acts as a reminder of your record-breaking shows here in London. We would love you to come back soon.”

From June 21-23, Swift held three concerts at Wembley Stadium. She returned to the iconic venue on August 15 to wrap up the European leg of the Eras Tour. Between August 15-20, Swift performed five additional shows at Wembley, concluding this segment of the tour with a bang. She will now take a two-month break before resuming her tour.

These London performances marked Swift’s return after canceling her Vienna shows due to a foiled terror plot. The Vienna shows were initially set to be the last stop in the European leg before heading back to London.

At her final London show, Swift went out in style. She welcomed producer Jack Antonoff — with whom she closely collaborated on the album “Midnights” and The Tortured Poets Department — to perform “Death by a Thousand Cuts.” Her second surprise song of the night was “So Long, London,” which had never been performed live until that moment.

This wasn’t Swift’s first time surprising her fans in London. During her initial three-night stint at Wembley in June, Travis Kelce joined her on stage for a performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

The Eras Tour is Swift’s most ambitious tour to date, celebrating her entire discography. Over the course of a three-hour show, Swift performs more than 40 songs spanning almost all of her albums.

The tour began on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona. She spent the majority of 2023 touring across North America, then closed out the year with performances in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil.

2024 began with Swift taking the stage in Japan, Australia, and Singapore before heading to Europe on May 9. Next, on October 18, Swift will commence the second North American leg of the tour, featuring nine shows in the United States and nine in Canada.
