According to a statement (via People), Bon Jovi lauded his mother, saying, “Our mother was a force to be reckoned with. Her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family. She will be greatly missed.” Carol Sharkey was not only an entrepreneur but also the founder of her rock band and Bon Jovi’s fan club. She was a US Marine veteran in the 1950s and first met Bon Jovi’s father in the corps.

Sharkey spent her final moments at the Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. However, the singer didn’t reveal the cause of his mother’s death.
